Man’s Best Stress Reliever: My Dog

As a kid, I am fortunate to have a pet friend. I am an animal lover. I have a pet named Tobey, and he is a dog. We treat him as a part of the family. He was the nicest and the kindest dog we have ever had..and he’s special because he is the first pet we’ve ever had. Then, a tragic thing happened. His loss makes me suffer greatly, from then on, I decided not to risk exposing my kids to the same experience of them having to cope one day with the loss of their animal friend. But, life always finds a way to surprise you when you least expect it.
One evening, my son enters the house accompanied by a stray dog. This is a very bad idea for me, but my sons eyes were begging me to reconsider and allow his new friend to stay. “Please, just for a few days; until we find someone who wants to adopt.” Now you know how the story will go. The days passed and my new visitor is still in the house, feeling at home, messing around with my shoes and licking his plate all the way to the kitchen floor to the living- room carpet creating such dirt. But when he does this thing with his head putting it on my lap and let me touch it on the head, I catch myself smiling and start to think that this is not a bad idea after all, well, it is certainly not.
